Description
This session is part of our series on Artificial Intelligence.
According to a Missouri Online faculty survey in the Spring of 2023, 98% of UM faculty have concerns about the use of tools such as ChatGPT in assignments and 68% on tests. In this session, we will review different ways AI can be used for plagiarism and cheating, talk about AI text detectors and non-technological ways of looking for AI-generated content, along with the limits of both, strategies for approaching AI cheating with students, and discuss the current UM policies regarding unauthorized use of artificially generated content. Guest speakers who will share their experiences are Ben Trachtenberg (Associate Dean Academic Affairs & Isidor Loeb Prof of Law & Director Office of Academic Integrity, University of Missouri) and Andrea Melrose (Associate Director, Student Conduct & Academic Integrity, UMSL).
